PHYSICAL

In addition to helping the body, physical activity has positive mental effects on teens. When we exercise, endorphins are released. Endorphins are hormones that promote happiness and good feelings. By staying physically active, teenagers can reduce the risk of stress, depression and other mental health issues. Here's some of our CloudMind team's favourite ways to stay active!

WALKING

"My favourite physical activity is walking. It's very therapeutic. Taking long walks with a bottle of water clears the mind. It requires no special equipment'.

Caitlin

YOGA

'My yoga group are very kind and supportive of me. Yoga helps me maintain a healthy mindset as we do a lot of meditation".

Bronagh

MUSICAL THEATRE

"I stay active by going to my theatre group where I am surrounded by like minded people. This gives me a positive mentality".

Brandon

ACTING

"I like acting because it allows me to express myself and it's something I love doing. It makes me feel good as I love being goofy and making people laugh and making them happy".

Kayla

CYCLING

"Cycling helps me clear my mind. It makes me feel good and also helps me set goals for myself".

Oisin

TABLE TENNIS

"I like table tennis as it's fun, easy to pick up, and has a high skill ceiling for longer term players. It can be played casually or competitively and is a good form of exercise".

Shane

CYCLING

"My favourite physical activity is cycling because I find it peaceful and it also gives me time to think about the world around me whilst listening to music".

Sinead

WALKING

"Walking out in nature benefits both my mental and physical health. It allows me to get out of the house for a while and take in fresh air. It is a peaceful way to exercise and clear your mind at the same time".
